National Librarians’ Day Celebration at KLE Technological University’s Dr. M. S. Sheshgiri Campus, Belagavi

 





The Central Library of KLE Technological University’s Dr. M. S. Sheshgiri Campus, Belagavi, organized the National Librarians’ Day Celebration on 12th August 2025, marking the 133rd birth anniversary of Padmashri Dr. Shiyali Ramamrita Ranganathan, the Father of Library Science in India.

The celebration began with Principal Dr. S. F. Patil offering floral tributes to Dr. S. R. Ranganathan. In his address, he highlighted Dr. S R Ranganathan’s invaluable contributions to the development of libraries and emphasized that students should understand the importance of libraries in the digital age. He encouraged them to utilize library resources effectively for a brighter future.

On this occasion, Dr. S. F. Patil inaugurated the “Leave a Book, Take a Book” – Book Exchange Service, an initiative aimed at encouraging reading habits and promoting book sharing among library users.

Chief Librarian Shri. Karisiddappa Kaddipujar welcomed the gathering and outlined the life, work, and achievements of Dr. S R Ranganathan. The library staff members coordinated and arranged the event.

The program was graced by the presence of Dean of Academics, Dr. Praveen Ghorpade, and Heads of various Departments including Dr. M. Manjunath, Dr. R. H. Havaldar, Dr. Rajashree Khanai, Dr. S. N. Hosamani, Dr. Rakhee Kallimani, Dr. D. A. Torse, Dr. D. C. Patil, Dr. A S Patil, Dr. V. S. Malemath, and Dr. Prayag Gokhale. Faculty members, library professionals, and students also attended the program.
